Speech & Language Therapy Services
We believe that “Speech Therapy is the perfect combination of Science & Art… It is a Science to know what is happening during skill development and Art to get your client to love doing it.”
What is Speech & Language Therapy?
Speech & Language Therapy involves the assessment and diagnosis of a variety of communication and swallowing disorders resulting from a number of different causes (e.g. developmental delays, sensory processing disorder, stroke, premature birth, etc). Speech-Language Therapy should always include a thorough assessment and often intensive treatment that is individualized to each client.
What is the MLee Approach?
Each Speech Therapist at MLee goes through a very intense amount of training via a series of workshops and a lengthy certification process in order to become PROMPT Certified. Each PROMPT therapist identifies the strengths and weaknesses of a client’s mental, physical, and social-emotional aspects of development. Our goal is to achieve balance in these areas so that our clients are able to communicate their ideas and make lasting and fruitful friendships and relationships.
What is PROMPT Therapy?
PROMPT Therapy is a touch-based approach to increasing our client’s control of their speech muscles (jaw, lips, tongue) by moving the muscles with our hands to the appropriate positions for making words, phrases, and sentences. PROMPT Therapy is holistic and considers areas of strengths and weaknesses in cognition, physical, and social skills and how these areas affect each other when our clients are communicating.
Levels of PROMPT Training
MLee is proud to provide PROMPT Certified therapy. In addition to Marcus, who is a PROMPT Instructor, MLee has 3 Certified PROMPT Therapists and 5 Bridging Trained Therapists.
